Talent retention for sustainable and prosperous development of Hong Kong’s legal profession has been one of the work priorities of the Law Society.
On the occasion of Opening of the Legal Year 2024 in England and Wales, the Law Society and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London (“London ETO”), co-organised a student event in London, the U.K. on 1 October.
With the title “Navigating Hong Kong Legal Industry”, President Roden Tong talked about Hong Kong’s diverse legal practices, the important role played by lawyers in private practice and in-house in shaping economic recovery and development, and more importantly, the distinct opportunities enjoyed by Hong Kong’s strategic position in the country in relation to the Greater Bay Area development and the Belt and Road Initiative.
The President was delighted to connect with about 30 Hong Kong students studying or interested in law in the U.K. in a relaxed manner.
