The “Matching and Exchange Session for Chongqing-Hong Kong Partnership Associations and Collaborations” (“Matching Session”) co-organised by the Law Society and Chongqing Lawyers Association was held on 25 September. The event attracted around 35 participants from six Hong Kong law firms and 18 Chongqing law firms.

During his welcome speech, Vice-President Christopher Yu emphasised the distinct advantages and strengths of Hong Kong lawyers under the common law system. Council member and Vice-Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee (“GCLAC”) Neville Cheng delivered a closing speech at the Matching Session.

Before the start of the Session, Council members Justin Yuen and Neville Cheng, and Vice-Chairman of the GCLAC James Wong had a meeting with the delegates of Chongqing Lawyers Association and representatives of Chongqing law firms to introduce the background and function of the Law Society, and discussed how to strengthen exchange and collaboration opportunities in legal affairs between Hong Kong and Chongqing.

Representatives from Hong Kong and Chongqing law firms actively introduced their respective areas of expertise and explored future collaboration opportunities enthusiastically.
