The Secretary for Justice, Mr Paul Lam, SC, led a delegation of around 20 persons, comprising representatives from the Law Society, the Hong Kong Bar Association, and related sectors, for a visit to Shenzhen and Foshan from 6 to 8 August.
Co-organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Department of Justice, the “Resolve2Win - Legal Services of Hong Kong, Opportunities for All” conference was held on 7 August in Shenzhen. The Law Society was the supporting organisation of the event. Vice-President Christopher Yu attended the event on behalf of the Law Society. Attended by over 300 participants, the conference aimed to promote Hong Kong’s legal and dispute resolution services.
At a media interview, Vice-President Christopher Yu provided insights into the development, opportunities and challenges facing Hong Kong’s legal profession in the Greater Bay Area context and highlighted the distinct advantages and strengths of Hong Kong lawyers operating under the common law system.
