Co-organised by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Office and HKTDC GoGBA Business Support, the GoGBA Seminar for Legal Sector (“Seminar”) was held successfully on 23 July 2024. The Seminar was attended by over 170 participants, including lawyers from private practice and in-house lawyers. The Law Society was the strategic partner of the event.
President Roden Tong was invited to speak at the Opening Ceremony of the Seminar. Council member and Vice-Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee (“GCLAC”) Neville Cheng, Chairman of the Intellectual Property Committee Professor Kenny Wong, as well as Member of GCLAC Simon Chan took on the roles of moderator and speakers of the panel discussion and shared their invaluable insights and perspectives at the seminar.
President Roden Tong highlighted the growing demand for legal services in the development of the GBA, which requires the participation of professionals who are familiar with the laws of the Mainland, Hong Kong, and foreign laws.
The Seminar also included the sharing of the latest preferential policies of the GBA from government officials and a panel discussion under the topic “Strategies and practical guides for Hong Kong’s legal services industry to expand business in the Greater Bay Area”.
