Organised by the Macau Lawyers Association, the “2024 Lawyers’ Day” was held from 17 to 19 May 2024 in Macau. A seminar was held under the theme “Retrospectives and Prospects of the Legal Profession on the 25th Anniversary of Macau's Return” on 17 May.
Then-President C. M. Chan was invited to attend as an officiating guest of the seminar. Then-Vice-President and Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee (“GCLAC”) Roden Tong as well as Council member and GCLAC Vice-Chairman Neville Cheng were invited to share their views on the collaboration opportunities between Hong Kong and Macau lawyers.
Then-Vice-President and Chairman of the GCLAC Roden Tong (right) emphasised the significance of "One Country, Two Systems, Three Jurisdictions" for the legal development within the Greater Bay Area.
Council member and GCLAC Vice-Chairman Neville Cheng (centre) said that Hong Kong and Macau have much room for collaboration in handling foreign-related matters within the Greater Bay Area.
