Aimed at equipping Mainland students with legal knowledge relating to cross-border transactions from a common law perspective, the law course titled “An Introduction to Legal Services and Risk Management for Cross-border Transactions” jointly organised by the Law Society and Peking University Law School concluded successfully in April 2024.

Held in Beijing, the 32-hour law course was taught in English for the sixth consecutive year since 2019. To date, the course has trained over 150 Mainland law students, with over 30 volunteer lecturers over the years.

This year marks the 6th edition of the course. In addition to focusing on subjects such as cross-border investments, international commercial dispute resolution, and arbitration under the common law system, the course has introduced corporate insurance as a new legal topic for the first time. This newly added topic allows students to have a more comprehensive understanding of the role of Hong Kong lawyers in handling cross-border legal services and risk management.
